6 04 2007

Remote Windows Event Log ReaderThe ORION Windows Event Log Reader is a free application which centralizes Windows Event Logs without requiring a local agent on individual systems. It also receives syslog messages and combines them with Windows events for real-time viewing in the ORION Event Viewer or forwarding to another syslog server.

The application reads Windows events in real-time, which let’s you diagnose problems leading up to a Windows server crash or malfunction even if the server is no longer bootable. The application is distributed as a fully customizable ORION source code application and runs only on the Windows platform.

ORION Remote Windows Event Log Reader is a “Ready-To-Go” application; only requiring you to set the login information of the remote Windows servers, and designating a syslog server to forward the events to.

ORION supports :

  • Free processing volume of up to 5 events per second.
  • Upgradation with month-to-month subscriptions starting at $12.95/month for 15 events/sec.
  • Windows Events to be automatically forwarded to Syslog Servers, email, SNMP, or written to databases in real-time.
  • Taking automatic actions based on specific Windows Events.
  • Integration with existing Windows Active Directory Servers, so individual messages can be handled differently depending on the user’s group, department, or domain.
  • Configuration through fill-in the blank configuration of English language rules.
  • Performing complex event correlation, such as removing duplicate messages or checking for specific patterns.
  • Quick setup; up and running a few minutes.
