A recent survey by Online market research firm Compete Inc. shows that consumers aren’t ready to pay $500 for an iPhone currently. But if the price falls, they are ready to get one and switch to AT&T (Cingular, for USA). 26% people were interested to buy an Apple iPhone and only 1% said they were ready to pay $500 for it. ( hey, macaholics so few in number these days? ) 42% of the interested people said that they are expecting prices of about $200 to $299.
If you want to know more about the phone, read my previous post on Apple iPhone.
In the USA, the iPhone will only be available to AT&T (Cingular) subscribers and 60% of the ineterested people said that they are willing to switch operators in order to get it. ( feeling really sorry for the other operators )
The iPhone has often been compared to RIM’s blackberry, but they do serve different market segments. It will be ineteresting how iPhone competes with Blackberry and how much market share it can take away from RIM in the business class phone niche.
Apple had announced that the end-user price for iPhone would be about $500 when it hits the shelves. But Apple is known for their price cuts on new launches after a few months. So, there’s a high probability that it’d be $100-$200 less to target the mass market.

Hey, I just saw the first one of these, and let me say I was very impressed. The functionality of it is awesome, the screens come up really quick, the GPS mode rocks and modding it seems to be as easy as 1,2,3.
